I am currently in my third semester at Canadore College, pursuing a Business diploma with a focus on accounting, economics, marketing, and operations management. My academic journey has equipped me with a well-rounded understanding of business principles, and I am eager to apply my knowledge to real-world projects. Through various academic projects and coursework, I have developed strong research and data analysis skills. For instance, in the Canadore Innovation Challenge, I analyzed data on affordable housing to identify trends and propose actionable solutions. My coursework in Microeconomics and Macroeconomics involved gathering and interpreting economic data to assess market trends, while my studies in Managerial Accounting and Quantitative Methods for Accounting helped me analyze financial data and recommend improvements in business operations. These skills were further enhanced by my role as a Peer Tutor, where I guided students in analyzing business case studies and deriving meaningful insights.
In addition, as a Research Assistant at Canadore College, I worked closely with faculty members on data-driven academic projects. I was responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting research data, contributing to the development of actionable insights. This experience sharpened my analytical abilities and deepened my understanding of research methodologies, which I have applied in both academic coursework and personal projects. Beyond academics, I have actively contributed to event planning and management through volunteering at various campus and community events. Notably, I assisted with the Pow Wow Festival, Curling for Kibble Charity Bonspiel, and Battalion Hockey production. These experiences have strengthened my organizational skills and ability to manage logistics effectively. I also played a key role in the TEDxCanadoreCollege event, facilitating communication and ensuring smooth event operations.
Moreover, my exposure to strategic thinking in business, particularly in marketing, professional selling, and human resources, has strengthened my ability to develop and implement strategic plans. I am committed to continuous learning, and actively engaging in extracurricular activities and community events to enhance my communication, coordination, and event planning skills.
What I Aim to Achieve - I am focused on gaining experience in market research, operations, and project management, areas I have studied in my courses so far. Through subjects like Managerial Accounting, Microeconomics, Marketing, Operations Management, and Professional Selling, I have developed a strong foundation in business principles. I aim to leverage this knowledge to contribute to strategic decision-making, process optimization, and growth strategies in real-world projects. Additionally, I am particularly interested in roles that allow me to refine my skills in data analysis, business operations, and human resources. Ultimately, I aspire to combine my academic background with hands-on experience to make a meaningful impact in the business world. Furthermore, I hope to share my insights and expertise as a future professional speaker, helping others learn from my experiences and knowledge.
