AIMH - Environment & Mental Health (specifically ADHD): Community Perspective

PROJECT DESCRIPTION/DESCRIPTION DU PROJET: For us at AIMH, we are passionate about mental health, community and the environment. This project brings together these 3 elements, as they relate to your specific community. We are also committed to making precision medicine a living reality for children who have ADHD. The community-based project outlined below will help us refine our predictive models, with the important role that environment plays in mental health. There are 4 unique interlocking elements to the project. KEY PROJECT ACTIVITIES/TÂCHES ASSOCIÉES AU PROJET: Literature review on environmental factors as they specifically relate to ADHD in children, and to your community. Here, we can zoom the lens in and out, for either a more narrow or broader definition of community. Review of newspaper reports on/by community action groups working with environmental issues or programs. Contacting the spokespersons of these community action groups for their perspective on how environment is playing a role on mental health. Determining how many clinics there are in the community, working on mental health problems in general, and ADHD in particular. Contact the spokesperson in these clinics for their perspective on the interaction between environment and mental health issues, both in the short term given the pandemic, and outside the pandemic.
