Sarojini Sengupta is a scientist/entrepreneur with a passion for mental health. As a research for over 15 years at the Douglas Research Institute in Montreal, she was engaged in clinically-relevant research on ADHD and Schizophrenia. In particular, her work focused on understanding the role of genetic and environmental factors, and their intersection, in these complex neurodevelopmental disorders. Her work was recognized by several international awards. She enjoys mentoring students and received the Outstanding Mentor Award from the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP).
Shifting gears from academia, Sarojini is now co-founder of a start-up, AIMH (Artificial Intelligence for Mental Health). Combining her subject matter expertise with novel and cutting-edge AI methods, she is committed to helping make precision medicine a reality in multi-modal treatment of psychiatric disorders, starting with (but not limited to) ADHD.
