Westdale Nature School Employee Handbook Development
Westdale Nature School is seeking to create a comprehensive employee handbook that embodies the school's ethos and clearly outlines the roles, commitments, and opportunities available to its staff. The project aims to provide a resource that not only informs but also inspires employees by using language that is both accurate and descriptive. The handbook should be presented in a format that is creative, visually appealing, and easy to read, ensuring that it effectively communicates the school's values and expectations. This project will allow learners to apply their skills in writing, editing, and design, drawing from their classroom knowledge to produce a professional document. The end goal is to have a handbook that serves as a cornerstone for employee engagement and understanding within the Westdale Nature School community.

Written Content Editing/ Policy Writing
Our daycare program is a special blend of outdoor and mixed pedagogies, interested in nurtureing the whole child at their own pace We have a strong focus on nature, nutrition and independence. We are in the process of building a new program and need to prepare the proper documents required by the CCLS according to the CCEYA standards. We would like to collaborate with students to edit and review our written materials as well as write new policies in as required according the standard templates or according to recommendations and in line with our programs values. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Familiarizing themselves with our organization and some requirements of the CCEYA Rewriting current policies to update with current information. Correcting grammar mistakes. Verifying content for accuracy and consistency. Bonus steps in the process would also include: Developing entire policies where needed.
