This globally deployable system enables decentralized, on-demand production of diagnostic tests, reducing supply chain vulnerabilities while maintaining consistent quality standards. The containerized format allows rapid deployment in diverse settings from urban centers to remote communities worldwide.
- Design an integrated manufacturing system within a standardized shipping container format
- Develop end-to-end production workflow from raw materials to packaged tests
- Create modular reagent deposition technology adaptable to multiple test types
- Establish scalable quality control protocols for global regulatory compliance
- Optimize for minimal footprint and maximum production efficiency
This 2-week, 30-hour project will deliver conceptual design and initial specifications for this innovative manufacturing approach. With supervision from our Chief Science Officer, learners will conduct research into specifications, evaluate local manufacturing examples like Artron, bioLytical, and Medmira. The goal is a set of manufacturing designs we can immediately start building from.
- Containerized clean room facility design with integrated production line
- Modified inkjet deposition system specifications for bioactive reagents
- Complete kit-of-parts componentry system and sourcing strategy
- Manufacturing workflow documentation with critical control points
- Deployment guidelines for varied geographic and regulatory contexts
