branding brand identity researchOur company is looking to solidify our identity with the logo that we currently have. We are looking to better connect with our audience by standing out and being memorable while also being able to use the designs the students offer in a corporate setting.
We are looking for real designs that we could use in our branding as well as general branding knowledge. The right candidate would work to create consistent promotional branding assets.
This will involve several different steps for the students, including:
- Researching the brand identity.
- Work to create a branding guide for us to reference
- Help create prototypes using software tools that can be implemented in our marketing
- Research into the competitors to see what they are doing.
- Creating custom branding sheets with colours and logos.
By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities (this is basically a retelling of the steps above):
- Research into brand
- Brand reference
- Prototypes for us to use
Bonus steps would include:
- Custom material for us to use later on
Final deliverables should include
- A start to a brand sheet and guide for us to reference
Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:
- Access to personnel, website analytics, sales and brand collateral, and more
- Names of competitors to understand the market
- Work within the student's software expertise

About the company
Based in Vancouver and established in 2017, 77 Spirits Inc. is the first black owned independent bottler of sugar cane spirits in Canada. We currently source craft rums from around the world and bottle them with local partners and distribute them across Canada. There is no one else in Canada with the same business model.
With each expression we produce approximately 1000 bottles of rum, as such they are limited release and no longer available once the batch is sold out. Our flagship brand is BIRA! Under this brand we have three different sugar cane spirit expressions on the market with a fourth one scheduled to be bottled at the end of the year.
